ORM’S are not exactly what is meant by “opinionated”. But yes they do make you do things their way. Doctrine is the same way. Eloquent as well. Raw queries work much more efficiently, to be sure. And often you will find where engineers just junked the framework’s built-in ORM to write raw queries, especially in reporting environments where the typical ORM does not efficiently render joins and where clauses.
